About Us

We at Creature of Leisure believe that people are burdened with crazy busy schedules, working to the point of being burnt out or having so much stress that it has caused mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health problems.  Our society says that if you're resting, you're unproductive or lazy.  But it's the exact opposite.  If we don't allow ourselves or give ourselves permission to practice leisure, we are not going to be our best selves for anyone.  In a way, self-care (a form of leisure) is in fact being productive.

Much like the two cuddly cats depicted in the logo, this business was inspired by my daughter and our love for all things warm, fuzzy and comforting.  Our two male cats, Piggy and Dipper, are probably the most cuddly creatures to have ever crossed our paths that seem to truly understand the meaning of leisure.  They both have an obsession with blankets and cuddling up with each other or with their favorite humans. My teen daughter and I are no different.  No matter what time of year it is, there are always blankets within reach because I'm always cold or we just need something that provides comfort.  My absolute favorite time is being next to my daughter, sharing a blanket and watching a show we both enjoy.   

It is my hope that the products in this store, inspired by some of our favorite things, will bring you or someone you love some comfort, joy, or encouragement to keep pawsitive when life gets hard.  Keep rising and shining you beautiful creatures!
